I will buy this product again

I used this as a refractory brick backer in my natural gas blacksmith forge. The cement glasses very nicely and is very easy to work with. Not completely sure that it's functional temperatures are up to 3000 degrees though. Maybe 2200. After that it begins to droop and drip. But all in all its a great product for the price.

No good

Container indicated that it was for high temperature kiln use. It didn't work at all it bubbled up flaked off of the insulating soft brick and pulled the soft brick apart . Ruined the lid of my kiln which will now cost me $250 to replace.

Doesn't work as specified

As the specifications this products should work also in bricks in and out door. I used it to laid out a couples of refractory bricks in my wood burn bbq. The cement I applied between the bricks never got harder and still soft. On the ones exposes, the material was washed with the rein water.

A bit too thick

This seems a little bit too thick. It was hard to brush on. You still have to fire this very slowly otherwise it'll blister. Run the boiler 30-60 seconds at a time at first, then increase the time on. I used a temp gauge to ramp up the temps from 200 - 400 deg.

I would buy this product again

I ordered this product because it has a higher temperature rating than other products I looked at. My firebox had some cracks in it and the chimney sweep said the cracks needed to be repaired before I used the fireplace again. The chimney sweep wanted $350 to fix the cracks. I ordered this product and patched the cracks in the firebox myself. I have used the fireplace several times since patching the firebox and the product is holding up well.

Worked for a small repair in our boiler

This worked for a small repair in our boiler. I can recommend the product for that, but I am not sure how it would do on a really big job.

No it will not. For this particular application we are not able to advise the correct adhesive, we would suggest contacting a local contractor for more information.

This product would work for that application according to the manufacturer. 1/2 a gallon should be sufficient.

The manufacturer does not recommend this use of the product. They advise you to look at pottery instead.

This Hurcles Furnace cement is used on repairs, connections, and seals for a number of different refractory applications. You would not be able to use this type of cement for an in-slab application or any other construction purposes.
