I don't think it has a spring? It seems to be powered in both directions. I am just the homeowner...sorry if I couldn't help. b
No, its the floating point type. One wire is your common, The other is turns the motor ccw with 24vac the other wire turns it cw with 24vac. There's no spring return.
No. This a power-to-open and power-to-close damper. It is why it has three terminals: one wire for opening, another wire for closing, and the third wire is common. All terminals are marked clearly to identify which wire where. The damper uses electricity only for opening and closing. I have similar dampers in my hose. I like them, so far so good. The motor has mechanical and electrical (LED) indicators of its position. Keep in mind that the damper motor is not watertight and must be kept away from condensation (no water dripping on/in the motor).
