Freeze Free heating cable is self-regulating pipe heating cable that automatically varies its heat output with changes in surrounding temperature. Since this cable regulates heat output with temperature, a thermostat may not be necessary for some freeze protection applications. Freeze Free cable helps keep plastic and metal water pipes from freezing to -60ºF/-51ºC. A braided metal jacket provides an electrical ground as well as protection against damage in dry locations. Freeze Free can be cut to desired lengths per application. 75-foot maximum circuit length, 3-foot minimum circuit length.
Freeze Free cable can be applied on water-filled metal or rigid plastic pipes up to 2" (50.80mm) in diameter. On smaller size pipes, the cable can usually be applied straight along the pipe. However, on longer pipes and especially at lower temperatures, the cable must be spiraled around the pipe. This ensures adequate heat is applied to the pipes to keep them from freezing. Because of the self-regulating feature of this cable, it can be safely wrapped over itself (overlapped), if necessary, when installed on pipes, valves or flanges.
The Easy Heat Freeze Free cable is available with a power density of 3 Watts per foot. This power is specified at a surrounding temperature of 50 degrees F. At other temperatures, of course, the cable power output will be considerably different.

Best pipe heating cable and connector on the market!
Years ago I used Frost Tex II heating cables on pipes, sewers line's, and anything else that would freeze. Never trusted plain heat tapes. So glad to find this new and same product. Love the ability to wrap on any kind of pipe and over and around it. Safe , safe way to keep things from freezing. Use this on all water lines in my rental houses in cold Wyoming- minus 30 degrees last month. Ordered it and this company sent it right away. Will definitely know where to order from when I need more.

Didn't come with instructions, but it's easy to install.
This heating cable did the trick to thaw and defrost the frozen soil under our walk in freezer. The horizontal drilling was the hardest part, but once we installed 1" PVC pipe, these heating coils slid right in.

These coils emit enough heat to thaw the frozen soil underneath our Walk-in Freezer. Drilling holes under the slab was the hard part, but once we put in the PVC pipes, these heating coils slid right in and did the job.

I recommend this heat tape over other products
I had a problem with my bathroom freezing up because my furnace didn't keep it warm enough in my 80ft. trailer. I replumbed with Pex and wrapped this cable on it. Now my cold water is actually warm when I first turn the faucet on.

easy heat wire good so far
got tired of the barn plumbing freezing and breaking so I did it right this time no more pvc and lousy foam rubber pipe wrap. used pex and wrapped both pipes with easy heat wire which is easy to hook up. and put it all in 1- 1/2 inch fiberglass pipe insulation I think it came in 4 ft sticks. I used a good thermostat and life (winters) are good now. Really great customer service also. thanks for the help.

We installed water piping (pex) in the rafters of a warehouse in north Carolina. We secured the heat tape to the underside of the pex with zip ties and electrical tape. No failures a few years later. Thank you - Allen Christ Sent from my Verizon Wireless 4G LTE DROID
