The valves worked perfectly.
As stated above, the valves worked as well as the originally installed in 1992. The plumbinf company that installed the hot water system wanted $145 for a sweat only valve and told me that that the threaded models were no longer available, As my swear-soldering capabilities are somewhat limited, I figure I saved anoyher $200-300 by installing it myself.
