RVF Series Exterior Wall Mount Exhaust Fan, 8" Duct (447 CFM)

The fans did what I was hoping they would do but we're a bit louder than I was expecting them to be.

We have a grill range but don't use a hood, so it was important that the fan we attached on the outside of the house had enough CFM to draw all the smoke from the kitchen, even under heavy grilling. The FanTech RVF8XL easily clears all smoke and odors from the kitchen. In fact, it's so powerful that I only need to run it half speed or less. The unit weighs only 14 lbs, so it was easy to climb the ladder in order to mount the fan to the outside wall following the provided instructions. The wires connect easily in the junction box (needs 2 cable clamps not supplied) and the fan uses a standard rheostat to control the speed.

Having a backdraft damper built into the unit, would help immensely. Overall quality looks good.

Fitted above cook top in kitchen open to living area. Seems to be well made BUT I had hoped it would be very much quieter than it is. Also bought the more expensive of the controllers which seems to be identical to a product I can buy from Ace Hardware at about one third the price!

Great exhaust fan, installed very quickly and with no problems. This is exhausting a bathroom and small lockeroom with a shower and does a great job.

We (electrical contractor) installed this fan for a customer who was replacing an old rather big and commercial looking exhaust fan on the rear of his home. It was mounted to the wall down low exhausting air from his basement, I'm not totally sure what its used for or when they run it maybe to take the stinking cigar smoke out of the house? It ran very smooth and powerful I would definetely recommend as an alternate fan on the exterior of a home.
