I may buy one more Galvanized Steel Silencer for 8" duct.
I have not yet installed the product. We are building a house and this is for the ventilation system. It seems very nice. It arrived in a new never-opened box, in a padded shipping box, and in perfect condition.
I bought another one from someone who claims they are not responsible for sending it without real boxes. It arrived in a taped-together really messy package (from cardboard scraps).

Helps a bunch!
Using this with the Fantech hood liner and FG8XL inline fan. I originally thought that remote mounting the fan would be enough to make things quiet but given the short/straight ducting run the setup was about as loud (albeit while moving far more air) than a typical all in one hood. This silencer brought the volume down substantially and lowered the overall pitch of the noise making it less irritating. It worked so well that I'm considering a second one (as recommended in the manual) to see if I can make things even better.

8" silencers
We have a 1600 HP dyno and thje sound was carrying 4 miles to town. these silencers are doing a great job muufling the sound without causing back pressure.

I would recommend this product
The roof fan I purchased worked great but sounded like a turbo-prop plane in our kitchen.
The silencer was just that. Now the fan is so quiet that we forget to turn it off.
