Very happy with this switch

This pressure switch was extremely easy to install with minor electrical work. I used this switch on a dryer exhaust fan that I purchased from the hardware store not knowing that it didn't already have a switch with it. You cannot install the tube for the switch into flexible metal duct, it either needs to be sheet metal or in my case the fan that I installed had a long enough extension to connect duct that I installed it directly on the fan itself. Works great after 2 weeks and happy to have this fan controlled automatically and not on a light switch.

Picture deceptive

I ordered 3 units. While they all came with the metal hole mount tube, the switch already had a 3 wire cord mounted in the switch box hole with a snapping plastic grommet. There were ZERO instructions included how to remove the plastic grommet to install the steel tube. I called supplyhouse support they were no help suggested I call fantech. I called fantech they were only slightly helpful suggested "pinch the clips together" on inside to remove grommet then use a screw driver to unsnap and open and remove grommet from cord. After much time and effort I was able to get one grommet removed and metal tube attached to switch box hole. I will be installing and making sure one works before modifying the others. Fantech website lists part #95902 and #139147. I ordered and received a box labeled 95902. However all the boxes had part 139147 the corded switch including a mounting plate bracket with the metal tube bracket inserted as a separate item. The attached photo shows what I received in each box not including the sensing tube.

Updated part needed reconfiguration, but works

The mounting send to have changed between my old post and this replacement. I had to remove the strain relief, which was a bit of a pain, to adapt the mounting. Also the pressure sense tube is a bit larger diameter so I had to get an adapter. But it is working perfectly now.

Excellent replacement part at great price

This is a replacement part for a failed one. There are no equivalent devices to fit this function (all other solutions are much more expensive), there is only ONE company that makes this part. SupplyHouse has the best price and using their cheapest shipping method, it arrived the next day.

Q: Will it always turn off after 10 minutes? what if the dryer runs for 30 minutes

Hi Faith. Within ten seconds of the dryer beginning operation, positive pressure in the duct causes the switch diaphragm to close, activating the electronic timer circuit. The timer directs power to the fan in consecutive five minute cycles, effectively providing continuous boost as long as the dryer is on. When the dryer finishes its operation, the fan will complete the five minute cycle that it had started before the dryer stopped and then it will begin one final clearing cycle of five minutes. This means that the fan will continue to run for between five and ten minutes after the dryer has stopped.

It does run on the pressure in the vents. It works with the positive air flow generated by the fan, which should run for about 10 minutes.

This sounds good but at times wind will also enter the vent and create positive pressure that starts the fan. Unfortunately, the fan that my unit is attached to is noisy, so this is a problem.
