Unusual product for unusual use
The idea was to connect a 2" water heater schedule 40 vent line to an 8" galvanized vent duct. The 2" side of this thing fit the PVC, and the 2-1/2" side fit (after a spell in boiling water) the 3" side of the 8" to 3" galvanized adapter - which connected to the 8" galvanized vent duct. It worked!

Vacuum to dust collection connection
I think someone else in the reviews did this too; this coupler was perfect to connect my DeWalt DXV14P vacuum inlet to a 2-inch sch40 PVC pipe on my woodshop dust collection system.

Well-built. Perfect for OASE BioSmart pond filter
The OASE BioSmart pond filter (5000 or 10000 model) output uses a European pipe size (nominally 3") that doesn't fit Sched 40 pipe or fittings. This flexible coupling can be used to attach a Sched 40 2" S-S coupling, and makes a firm connection.
