Hi Woody. When the blower in your HVAC system turns off, the air cleaner will also turn off.
Hi Tom. Honeywell recommends the following in regards to cleaning the cells: 1. A quick cleaning of the cells can be done by simply wiping down the ionizer wires with a damp cloth. This will help boost the efficiency of the air cleaner between full cleaning cycles. This quick clean can be done every time the prefilters are cleaned. 2. A full cleaning of the cells will return the air cleaner to its peak efficiency. An easy way to wash the cells is in a tub of hot, soapy water. Just soak the cells until the water cools, agitate and rinse. 3. A full cleaning of the cells can be put off for yearly maintenance because the efficiency of the air cleaner remains high even as it loads up with dirt. A quick cleaning can be done more often. Those wishing to renew to peak effeciency or with heavier use may want to wash more frequently.
The unit is 6 3/4" thick.
Yes, The F300 Electronic Air Cleaner is mounted in the return air duct of a forced air heating, cooling, or ventilating system. For complete dimensions on this unit please see here: http://s3.supplyhouse.com/manuals/1309877498838/57122_PROD_FILE.pdf
Mine is right about 6.5 inches wide ... and I have the 16x20 sized model Mark
The width is 6 1/4 inches
The pre-filter which comes with it, is all that's required.
Mine came with three, Pre, Post and the electronic.
There is a washable aluminum pre filter only Sent from my visual encoding device.
No, they have a thin pre filter then the electrostatic elements. No room for anything else in the unit’s frame/case.
Mine came with metallic pre-filters, and plastic post filters. The post filters are too coarse and let fine dust through, so I followed this with a large media filter. This unit came with two PRE FILTER there is no POST FILTER.
No. All of them I have seen require the purchase of the post-filter seperately. -Scott
Yes or at least I would consider it a post filter. First filter is the induction filter for the duct work itself ( located in a ceiling or wall ), 2nd is the first filter located in the unit, 3rd are the cells itself locted in the unit and 4th is the post filter located in the unit. Hence the air drawn in passes through 2 filters then the cells and the last filter in the unit. The unit I have works great in dusty Las Vegas.

Yes. Wire filter on the inlet side and a thin composite filter on the outlet side.
The unit is 4-1/2 inches height. The post and pre filters are about 3/8 in each in thickness. If used they will need their own rails to slide into, built into the duct work.
My unit is a 20 x 25 filter. It is just under 6.75 inches wide(when unit is standing with power supply on top). This 6.75 inches includes the prefilters, filter grids and the post filters. You can see that the power supply extends off the top by about 3 inches. However, what you can not see, and may be of significance is that the blue door's catch at the bottom of the filter housing, extends below the filter frame by just under 0.75 inches. Therefore, overall dimensions are: 23 1/8 high (excluding the 3/4 extension at the bottom of the door) X 26 1/4 deep (including door handle and test button) and 6.75 inches wide. Note: you should plug this device into a surge protector. God bless.
We have 2 dogs and a cat so I do it every 6 months. There is a bit of debris in the screens and some dirt on the electrostatic elements. All clean up rather easily. But nothing that has ever made it stop working. Mark
clean filter one time a month. replace post filters one time a year when furnace is serviced
Every 6 mos you clean it. Sent via the Samsung Galaxy S™III, an AT&T 4G LTE smartphone
I clean it once a year and find it to be clean even after a year. Sent from my iPhone
Would be very happy to, I clean the cells ( washing them in the dish washer). I still have not replaced the filters yet because they are in great condition. I live in Las Vegas and its very dusty, the system works great I only need to dust once every 2 weeks before it was every 3 days. I would change the filters only as needed. Jim C
I clean it in the dishwasher every six months.
Clean? Once a month. Replace? Depends on the part... I have an ultraviolet lamp in the duct so it oxidizes aluminum FAST. So... The mesh prefilter is replaced twice a year. The pollen postfilter at the same interval. And I've replaced the cells themselves once after about 7 years -Scott
twice a year- beginning of summer and end of summer as my machine pushes twice as much air in the a/c mode as heat mode. Also more outdoor air infiltration in summer.
Yes
Yes. -Scott
Yes, mine is on a ground source heat pump. It must be forced air and sized for the return duct.
Yes, this unit can be used with a heat pump. The coil unit for a heat pump is located after the the air goes through the furnace where the filter unit would be located before the furnace in the duct work.
either or. i have installed 2 in both positios. T-Mobile. America’s First Nationwide 4G Network
I should think so ... there are no moving parts inside.
This unit can be installed both vertical or horizontal. It does have air flow direction. Directions with unit will tell how to install it the right way.
Yes, it can. My unit is installed horizontally.
This unit can be installed in either orientation. -Scott
I placed mine vertically.
