TH115 A a perfect solution
Needed low voltage thermostat because could not bring 240 volt cables to thermostat wall location. Used one TH115A thermostat to drive two 15 amp electric baseboard heating zones via two RC840T 22 amp relay/transformer's mounted on electrical boxes attached to the load center. The R connection of one of the RC840T's is not connected. Could have used one RC840T and one RC840 to save a few $, but used two RC840T's to give spare transformer in case it would have been necessary to split large room into two completely separate zones each with a separate thermostat.

Q: I am currently using 6 of the Honeywell TH1110D1000 thermostat to control my hydronic radiant heat system. I'd like to replace with a QUIET programmable thermostat. Will this one work or is there a more suitable replacement? Thanks a bunch!

Q: This TH115-A-024T programmable t-stat is to replace a Honeywell Digital Round T8775A1009 non-programmable unit operating a two wire zone controlled hydronic heat system. It needs to control ambient air - not floor temp. The PB112-024T diagrams do not address hydronic systems. Questions: 1. How should it be wired to provide the 24V power from the zone controller? 2. Can this 115-A-024T be made to work without the 840T relay? Please provide terminal connections.

Verified Reply- PexSupply StaffThe TH115 requires three wires at the thermostat subbase to operate: R, C and W. If a simple control is needed for your 2-wire zone valve control please review the TL8100A1008, which is battery powered and 2-wire controlled. The TH6110D1005 is another option for this application.

Q: Will this type of thermostat work with Taco's Zone Sentry 3/4" zone valves (which are normally closed)? I'm looking for the proper programmable thermostat for this purpose. I have 4 zones on a hot water baseboard system, so I will need 4 thermostats.

Verified Reply- PexSupply StaffYes, this thermostat should work. You will also need Aube RC840T Series electromechanical relays to use this thermostat as per the manufacturer.

Q: I am trying to upgrade my home thermostat. The current thermostat is the original rotary dial and operates with a gas fired boiler (also original to the home) that supplies radiators. Is this thermostat compatible with this type of home heating system?
