Yes if used one one of their thermostats.
No it will not, it has no sensor connections. The sensor I believe is a millivolt resistor.
I would place the sensor along side of a tube with duct tape to hold it it place. These things are cheap to buy so place two or three in different locations so if one fails or gets damaged you can change the wires at the box where the thermostat is mounted. On the average sensor wires can run up to 500 feet so adding the few feet you want to will not be an issue.
In one of my in floor heating zones I extended the lead length to at least 40 feet. Used a 16 gauge wire. Given the approximately 10k resistance of the sensor the additional sensor wire is immaterial. My installation is working fine.
I am not an electrician, but I am sure you could extend it. The resistance is in the sensor on the end of the wire and not in the wire itself. Eventually there would be a limit, but any limitation on extension would most likely be set by the thermostat. Brad Watson, P.E.
Sorry but that doesn't make any sense. The thermostat is connected to the sensor AND the heated floor mat. The heated tile area should start RIGHT NEXT TO the wall that this thermostat is mounted to. If it does not, then that is a design problem and should be fixed - extend the dedicated home run (junction it if need be), and install the thermostat in the proper place. The ONLY reason I can think of why you might ask this question is that your electrician didn't install the dedicated home run to a good place, right next to your tile work. If that's the case, then you should move it, so that your thermostat will be VERY close (mounted on a wall directly next to) the heating wires. Good luck!
We use ours with Thermosoft mats and Honeywell (Aube) thermostats. You are asking about the EZ Heating System, which also has the Aube thermostat option, so this sensor should work just find there also. Make sure you install a primary and backup sensor in the floor, just in case. Only one of them will actually be CONNECTED to the thermostat. The other will just sit behind the thermostat in case there is a failure. Good luck!
I did a quick search and can't tell. EZ heat does not list anywhere in their literature whether they use a 10k ohm sensor, which is the most common one used here in the US. I also couldn't find any specs anywhere else online. Best thing to do is contact EZ Heat and ask for the resistance chart for their sensor or just ask if it is a 10k sensor that they use in their stats. Sorry I couldn't be of more help. I use these sensors all the time for other systems (hot water) so they do work with a lot of different thermostats. Good luck. Jeff
Yes, it will.
Yes. No problem. Jeff
I have used the NA floor sensor with the AUBE THERMOSTAT in question. I will note that the AUBE came with a sensor. Pat
Yes. I've connected it to mine. Wrks fine. Have a good day. Sent from my U.S. Cellular® Smartphone
Yes, we have this sensor installed with our Honeywell Aube thermostat.
