Works exactly as advertised...
If you're installing a Wi-Fi thermostat and you have no easy way to pull an additional thermostat wire through your wall cavity, here's your solution. It's often much faster and cheaper than trying to fish a new 18/5 or 18/6 cable between the thermostat and the furnace.
It works exactly as intended; just make sure that your new thermostat has a "K" terminal. AFAIK the Honeywell Wi-Fi and Redlink 'stats will have this terminal. The cheaper ones do not.

Part of what I needed
This part will help make your AC and heating work, but you still need the 24v transformer for the thermometer.

Beats running a 5th wire to your thermostat.
Great product. Too bad so few furnace installers are willing to advise about this product. It easily wires in at the furnace and then allows you full five wire control with 4 wires at the thermostat. No big expense.

Wifi Thermostat works

Easy to install and worked fine with my Model RTH8580WF. Don't think it is only for TXH9000 series. Nice "How To" video here:
