Ran for about 10 seconds then smoke developed

I hooked up this igniter board and power supply send by Supply Warehouse, and in about 10 seconds it sparked and smoke rolled out. Had to unplug My Reznor heater

I would definitely buy this product again.

This board was easy to install even though it was a updated version and a little different from the original.

Board Functions but is it Reliable

Board functions like original, but time will tell if it is reliable.. There was no dip switch to adjust fan duration. Instead, the dip switch setting was hard wired to default setting. I don't know for sure why this was done, but I suspect that the dip switch might have been a high % cause of failure and hard wiring the setting may have reduced incidents of failure. A few components were in slightly different locations and orientations, but it didn't affect the installation of the board into the furnace. Also, the board was made with a different material and didn't seem as rigid as the original and this was a concern as the spade connectors were very difficult to disconnect from the original and I was afraid that I might damage the solder joints trying to put them on this board. I did, very slightly, pry open the spade female connectors to make it easier to push them on the male spades on the board. I didn't expect to receive installation instructions and circuit diagrams with the board, but this was a pleasant surprise and useful. The board was packaged in a pink poly bag and not in a static shielded bag. Pink poly is static dissipative and so doesn't generate or retain static electricity if grounded, but it doesn't protect the board from ESD damage like a static shielded bag. I think the board should have been packaged in a static shielded bag. I don't know what practices the people making and packaging the board are using, but the board being packaged in pink poly is an indicator that they don't understand the fundamentals of ESD and aren't using good ESD practices. Only time will tell if the circuit was damaged by ESD and fails prematurely.
