4" x 4" Saddle Tee Conversion Kit W/ Gasket

I bought this to tie in a sewer drain to existing line to lagoon. Because of the level of the lagoon, we were unable to cut the pipe to put in a Y without the lagoon emptying so I bought a saddle tee without a gasket. This was connected to a 22 and 45 degree combo to a short section to the new line. This assembly was not on the top, but to the side of the main line. A balloon put past the juncture stopped most of the backflow, but because it was still leaking, we were unable to glue our first saddle without a gasket in place and it leaked. I then bought this one with the gasket. The included 6"x7" gasket if used lengthwise only allows about 1'8 inch play on either side of the hole in the saddle. We were off just a smidge and were unable to get a seal. I had a piece of 1/4" adhesive closed foam rubber left over from a project and cut it to fit the entire inside of the saddle tee. I stuck the adhesive side on the tee, put silicon, then attached everything. This time it did not leak. If you put the gasket sideways, there is about a half inch play on either side. I would not buy this again because of the size of the gasket. I would buy the one without the gasket and make my own like I ultimately had to.

This was the ideal fitting to connect to a 4 inch underground drain line. I did not have to dig up the whole line to put a standard tee in place. I only had to drill a hole in the existing 4 inch pipe and then clamp this on.

Had to tap a 4" drain line that had about a half inch of water running continuously, for a newly added drain. Cut a window in the top of the pipe and used this saddle tee. Never used one before but it worked great.
