Be aware of the actual requirements.

I live in an area with infrequent, but prolonged power outages, especially during tropical storms or unusual rain events. My sump pump never runs except these times, but its required to prevent flooding in my basement. I have a 1/3 HP ejector pump, but need a backup pump in the event I'm away and can't hook up my generator. Both pumps are in an 18" diameter sump. VERY tight fit. I had to replace the input connector with a street elbow to get it to fit, which it did but just barely. I'm somewhat disappointed in the flow rate I got, but it's all there in the specs. The unit is plumbed with 1 1/2" PVC, I used conduit sweep 90's to reduce the back pressure. There is about 7' of head, and about 25' total pipe. I ran 3/4" PEX to an existing pipe within the house. My normal water pressure is about 65 PSI. With the unit running, the pressure at it's input drops to about 25-30 PSI, more drop than I expected, this thing needs a lot of water to work. Under these conditions the specs say it will be pumping about 6 to 9 GPM, which seems pretty close. If I were to do this over I'd run 1" PEX back to the entrance for more pressure. It's going to work for my purposes, but not with the comfort level I'd like. I'd recommend it with reservations, you have to be very aware of the actual requirements to make it work. The reviews that complain it doesn't pump are probably correct, but for a reason.

Eventually loses siphon power

Mine worked great for 6 years, I tested it every 3-4 months, then just stopped pulling water. I called the manufacturer they told me shouldn't happen, nothing they could do. Input water pressure is at the top end of the range suggested. If you buy it, make sure to regularly test it.

Worked as specified

The pump was an easy install. I didn't give a five start rating because the discharge flow seemed lower than I expected. It maybe due to my water pressure or the length of my bubbler line. Im going to make a few corrections and reevaluate.

The inlet of the SumpJet® is factory equipped with a SharkBite® push-type fitting. This fitting can be used with various approved 3/4-inch potable water tubing and pipe, such as PEX tubing (ASTM F876, CSA B137.5), copper pipe (ASTM B 88), or Copper Tube Size (CTS) CPVC pipe (ASTM D 2846, CSA B137.6).

The minimum water pressure = 30 psi with the valve open. (less pressure may not eject water from your basement)
