Description
–
The Liberty Pump 457 is an automatic submersible sump pump with 1/2 HP that has a magnetically operated vertical float (VMF) switch. This switch allows the sump pump to operate in sump diameters as small as 10" and handle solids up to 3/8". This submersible sump pump is equipped with a motor design that can reduce electrical usage by 40%. The motor on this sump pump is thermally protected and permanently lubricated to increase durability. It is recommended that the pump not be run dry in order to prevent excessive seal wear and overheating.

This is my favorite pump out there for sump replacements. No other brand compares to liberty, I'll never use another. Made in the USA, by an employee owned company. I won't give my money to any other manufacturer

removed a burnt up zoeler pump and installed this pump. this pump has a slightly thinner profile and is great for replments or new installs.

Great Pump!
I've had this pump running for over 2 trouble-free years in my basement so far, and I couldn't be happier. I needed a pump that would work in a relatively small sump pit (I have a 17" x 16" basin), and the 457 fits the bill. It easily lifts water up 8ft, and out of the basement, every time. This pump is incredibly quiet and efficient too! I highly recommend!

Product seems OK, Service was Great
The things that are great about it are that is pumps well, has very good head (height it pumps up to) for a relatively inexpensive pump, and not very noisy.
However, the float rod is cheap plastic, and the bottom part of the pump, which I believe, holds the impeller, is high density plastic. Probably not a problem once the pump is properly installed, but until then, handle with care, as it would be easy to break it.
Mine was damaged in shipping. But thanks to the folks at Pex, they got a replacement out to me quickly, so I could keep the job on schedule.
Now the pump is up and running and works really well. So 4 stars for the pump and 5 stars for the Pex customer service people.
