First replaced no charge, new one great

[...] We use it as a sump pump for water only and it works great, alot better than a cheap plastic pump. its very rugged and heavy duty. Has plenty of electrical cord. Would have been better with a built in float switch on the side, because we didnt have enough room to use the independent float it came with. But the pump itself is great for sure, actually we replaced the exact same model that was used frequently and dry run on many occassions, and the old one still lasted for about 5 years even with our abuse. This is used industrialy also.

Q: Can I attach a hose to this unit and put it in the drain in my basement and attach another hose to direct the water out of my basement? Thanks.

Yes, you can do this. You will just need to make sure that the pump can handle that distance.

Q: Does this float switch have a "piggy back" arrangement that allows the pump motor plug to be plugged into the piggy back receptacle.......or is the float mechanism connected to the internal of the pump... I prefer the "two plug" piggy back for float function
