1/8" Threaded One-Pipe Steam Straight Valve Assembly with EVO-28 Operator

I have an older home with one pipe steam radiator system and one bedroom overheats in the early hours during the coldest months of the year. I tried other cheaper solutions like adjustable steam air vents but they didn't help. Finally caved and bought this. It's pricey for what it is but this works. Can finally not overheat the bedroom in the early am hours and get some good sleep. It's very easy to install, just use some teflon tape for each joint before you screw them together to seal them. There is a lot of high pitched whistling when it keeps my radiator from heating beyond the temp setting I set. But I got used to it. I think my radiator is just too large for the room so it's fighting the steam vent but thankfully it works pretty well. On occasion the room still gets warmer than I'd like but it's not bad and I can always lower it even more if I need to. There is a range from 0 to 9 and the tiny manual tell you what temp each number corresponds to. If you try to buy each of these pieces separately you will end up paying the same price. There really isn't a way to save on the price unfortunately. This set is good in that you know all the pieces are compatible so it just works. It is a little long, maybe 5 inches long and 4 inches tall but it was not that heavy surprisingly. I was afraid of it being too heavy to screw in but it was fine.

Simple to install, easier to use. Solves problems associated with too much or too little heat in specific rooms.

Had a problem of steam radiators getting and staying too hot after replacing windows. Helps control the amount of heat output. Over time, plan to put these on all of our radiators!

Finally I can "kinda" control the temperature in the apartment during the winter without opening and closing the window.

Have installed into each of the radiators in my multi-story house.

Installs in minutes and works like a charm

This is the only thermostatic radiator valve to get if you have single pipe steam. I've never seen another with a built in vacuum breaker, which is necessary for the condensate to return. Works great and has a high quality look and feel to it.

Radiator control

Already had one of these installed, but added 2 more, and finally, all the rooms in my house are roughly the same temperature. Easy to assmble/install, worked great!

The units appear to be well made and of quality materials. Fairly simple and straight forward to install. Works just like they should. I bought three of these units for my second floor radiators. I had all three installed in less than 30 minutes. The temperature on the second floor went from around 85 in the winter down to a much more comfortable and budget friendly 68. Each of the bedrooms can now be adjusted to personal taste rather than it just being to hot period. While they are not cheap they will be worth every penny long term.
