This Danfoss valve works well to update radiator heating using a one-pipe steam system. The delivery service from SupplyHouse was outstanding. The best from any plumbing supply house I have ever used.

Noisy and sputters water
I purchased these with the thermostatic control valve and found they were noisy, spat water and cycled open and closed constantly during the heating cycle.
Replaced with the straight shank Gorton and none of the same problems occurred.
Radiators are level and pressure level is good so - no that is *not* the issue!

Time for a bit of quality control
I received 11 air vent valves for our single pipe radiators. Most were perfect. But a couple had stems which were not made straight. So while they work okay, they look a bit off.

Responding to previous review, the reason air vent is noisy is a missing or non working master vents and high pressure of the steam. These, when install properly, work with no noise whatsoever.

Works but very loud
Bought to use with the Danfoss thermostatic radiator valve. Together the parts work well at maintaining the temperature of my 1pipe steam system, but this particular air vent is very noisy. It has a high pitch hissing noise. I would recommend another one.

yes, 1/8, just like any standard air valve that screws into the side of the radiator on the opposite side of the steam inlet hand valve.
