The Merit Brass class 150 coupling is a stainless steel 304 cast pipe fitting with female National Pipe Taper (NPT) threads for connecting and extending pipes going in the same direction.
Made of stainless steel 304, the low carbon content of this fitting ensures higher corrosion resistance than 302 grade steel. The coupling has NPT threads for creating tighter seals than
straight threads.

I would NOT buy this again
After waiting 3 weeks for these couplings, I found the 2 I had ordered to be tapped too tightly to be used with 1-1/2 tri-clamp fittings. Fortunately, while I was waiting for these stainless couplings, I ordered and temporarily used a brass coupling. Turns out the brass coupling will stay as a permanent fixture because the threads on these stainless couplings are cut so inaccurately that they cannot be screwed onto 1-1/2" NPT fittings. Very disappointed.

Size?
This coupling is supposed to be 1/4". It is bigger than 1/4" on both the inside and outside dimensions. Supplyhouse has been good to work with and I'm not going to return it. Just Sayin'

Fortunately, while I was waiting for these stainless couplings, I ordered and temporarily used a brass coupling. Turns out the brass coupling will stay as a permanent fixture because the threads on these stainless couplings are cut so inaccurately that they cannot be screwed onto 1-1/2" NPT fittings. Very disappointed.
