Description

Mr. PEX 3700183 Pressure Test Fitting (Pressure Test Kit)
A Mr. PEX pressure test fitting used with compatible Mr. PEX manifolds to pressurize and monitor a radiant/hydronic manifold during system pressure testing.

Key Features
  • Pressure test fitting for Mr. PEX manifolds with 100 psi gauge and air valve
  • 1" size, threaded connection
  • Application listed as Accessory
  • Product type listed as Pressure Test Kit
  • Manufacturer listing identifies it as a Pressure Test Kit, nominal size 1 NPT

Compatibility & Applications
  • Listed as compatible with Mr. PEX Manifold applications.
  • Must only be used where the manufacturer specifies this exact part number: 3700183, and where a 1" NPT pressure test connection is required.

Installation & Operation Notes
  • Installation should be performed by a qualified hydronic/radiant installer or service technician.
  • Reference the MrPEX radiant installation guidance for pressure testing procedure and safety practices.
  • Ensure the connection type matches the manifold port and confirm the connection before applying sealants or tightening.

Maintenance & Troubleshooting
  • This fitting is used specifically for pressure testing; issues are typically discovered during pressurization (leaks at threads/valve, or inaccurate readings).
  • If leakage occurs, verify proper thread engagement and sealing method appropriate for the connection type, then retest. If the gauge/valve does not hold pressure or reads inconsistently, replacement is commonly the corrective action.

User Reviews & Q&A Summary
  • Use-with-care themes: Some users report it can work when installed with careful sealing and aggressive tightening on the threads
  • Positive outcomes (also present): Several reviewers say it worked as expected and was "exactly as described" once installed.
  • Q&A theme: A customer asked if it would thread into a 1" copper female adapter; SupplyHouse staff confirmed it is 1" NPT.

Pex-Al-Pex pressure Check

Purchased this pressure gauge to check the individual loops on my retro-fit floor heating system. I installed the gauge into one end of a brass connector while using a Sharkbite connector to make the connection into the Pex-Al-Pex tubing. Used some teflon paste on the NPF threads. No leaks, no issues. Held steady at 60 PSI for days on each of the five loops I was testing. Delivered from Supply House in 2 days. Good service. Good product.

Worthless

We bought 4 of these for use pressure testing radiant floor tubing. 3 of the 4 had problems right out of the box. 2 leaked air from both the valve stem threads and the gauge threads. The 3rd one leaked from the schrader valve and the threads on the fitting itself. After wasting time (= money) messing with them trying to get them sealed up we got 1 of the 3 to work. The valve stem fitting cannot be replaced because it it some weird thread, not standard 1/8 x 27 pitch pipe thread. I would return them all for credit but my installation crew was so frustrated they threw them all in the dumpster at the job site. I would not recommend these at all. Would give this product ZERO stars if that rating were available. Save your money and time and use something different or make up your own fittings.

Failed as a pressure test kit

As other have said, it leaks right out of the box. Took the gauge off and resealed it (very little if any glue used to seal it). Pressure continued to drop, but at a slower rate. Checked valve stim, reseated it and now pressure is holding. Frustrating, the device designed to help find leaks and it's the problem.

Defective as received

The legend plate under the needle was curled, not allowing the needle to move freely. I twisted off the front of the gage holding the glass and bent the thin metal legend plate back down so needle could move. Shouldn't have to make repairs on a new piece of equipment!

Leaks out the box

Hard to test pressure when the Schrader valve is leaking around the threads.

poor product

I never write reviews, but installing hydronic systems has enough challenges and so I feel obligated to mention the shortcomings of the product. As others have said, the valve leaks... ours did at both the Shrader valve and the main threads. Additionally, the cardboard piece (printed with readings) curled out slightly and obstructed the indicator needle. This was difficult to diagnose, frustrating, and potentially dangerous... as we got a reading of 40 PSI regardless of how much pressure was in the system.

I would think twice about buying again.

Unfortunately the valve on this failed from the get go. It made it very difficult to pressurize the system meaningfully. I saw another review that said essentially the same thing and I assumed that the quality would have checkcked.

Works well

Stainless threads are much tougher so you need to really crank down on the fitting to get it seal and use plenty of Teflon on the threads!!

Leaks

Pressure tester leaks at the threaded joint assembled at the factory. Bubbles show up at the joint when pressurized and I put on snoop. Disassembled and applied teflon tape to the joint. Now it leaks less but still doesn't work as a pressure tester. I'll update if I can resolve this through customer service.
