This ventilation fan has a molded plastic impeller, 2-pole motor and a spring mounted plastic grille. Fits 2" x 4" ceiling or wall construction. The snap-in motor plate requires no tools for installation or removals.

squeek in old housing cnt replace the housing cause how cut,
had the old fan afixed. this one came with a blade a slight vary so i took it off. used a washer bolt + plier + glue and ripped each fan off the motor, slightly smooth just force it rushly. i had to this came sqeeuk squeek in my studio, in the old housing its center off, now notice noise less. just swap the fan versa, whooping motor in this do, going to dw40 every 3 months now to keep it from rusting like the earlier.

I would not buy this fan, but I did not use it completely
This is an update. I bought this to replace a model 695 fan that lasted 17 years. I could not use all of it, so I just used the motor and fan blades. That worked, but was quite loud and had a squeal as noted by another reviewer. I thought that squeal was due to the newer fan blades that were very different from the old one. So today I removed that fan and put on the old one. They are very different and the shaft of the old one was flatted whereas the new one was fluted and smaller in diameter. A little epoxy took care of that, so now the squeal is gone.

I would buy this product, but it has changed
I bought the old Nutone 695 bathroom fan in 2003 and it failed with an open circuit a few days ago. I thought, great, they still make the fan. It was delivered in about 4 days. I was hoping that I could just remove the fan motor assembly that comes out easily and replace it with the new one, but alas, they changed it enough that that was not possible. I then tried to get to the housing in the attic, but that that was impossible due to the way they redid our AC air handler. So, then I thought well if the only issue is the motor windings, I could just replace that part. No, the new motor was slightly different. So, I basically took the new motor and fan disk and used it to replace the old ones on the old removable motor frame piece. It works fine, but is a good bit louder than the old one. So, I can say that the original Nutone 695 was great, but I'm not too sure of this one.

Lasted less than a year
squeal that wakes the entire house. we were able to use this unit for less than a year. spend the extra money and buy a Panasonic. This was not purchased at supplyhouse.com
