Oatey No. 95 Lead Free Tinning Flux cleans, tins and fluxes most commonly soldered metals including copper, brass, zinc, galvanized iron, lead and tin or copper-coated metals. No. 95 contains lead free solder powder which helps draw in the solder wire. Fluxing is a critical step in the soldering process. No. 95 Tinning Flux provides superior wetting properties for better solder flow and can be used with most soft solders. No. 95 Tinning Flux complies with CA & VT lead content regulations.

95 to the rescue.
Used to be a fan of the rectorseal 95/5 but it isn't nsf61. This oatey 95 takes care of that. Oil based but still approved for potable systems. Tinning flux will give you a bit of extra help with them difficult joints. Not as smooth but easy to use.

Oatey is awesome
I don't recall ever having a bad Oatey product. Usually the perfect solution, well made and ideal for project at hand. As was this water based flux.

Oatey soldering flux
This flux work fine with 95-5 solder. Do not buy the Oatey water base flux as it does not work well with 95-5.

I like this flux
This flux gives me that little bit extra assurance that my joint will hold. Just knowing there is the added tinning makes me confident of a good solder joint.

Seems to work well
Used in place of standard flux, so didn't notice whether included solder powder made a difference. Worked fine as flux for soldering copper fittings.

Works Great Soldering the Newer No-Lead Fittings
The newer lead free fittings require more heat to solder than the copper pipe itself, and sometimes difficult to get a good solder joint. This tinning flux helps with solder flow into these No-Lead fittings we have to use today, it cleans & pre-tins.

Terrific Flux
Especially good for use with the new lead free brass fittings that can be problematic at times. Tinning helps pull the solder right into the joint. Virtually the only flux I use these days. Excellent when used with Oatey Safe-Flo solder because the powdered "tinning" in this solder is in fact Oatey Safe-Flo. Supply House should stock this solder.
