1/4"– 1-5/8" Toilet Flange Extension Kit

I had a toilet in one of my rentals that was leaking at the wax seal. Removed toilet to find there had been tile installed in the bathroom and the flange was never raised. I bought this kit because it looked like it had everything I needed to make the flange height correct and it did. I only used a couple pieces from the entire kit but when time = money I wanted to make one trip. This solved the leak and I was on my way.

Worked great! Fairly easy to install if you have a sharp drill bit

I was renovating a bathroom, which required pulling up some old linoleum, then laying down some cement board and tile. There was an existing PVC flange with a metal flange ring, which presented two problems: first, the existing flange was below the new floor level; second, the flange ring had rusted out. Obviously, I had to remove the rusted-out ring, but the flange itself was in good shape. I didn't want to go to the trouble (and risk) of trying to remove the flange, so what to do? Enter this product to the rescue. There have been some criticism on various retailer sites that the instructions for this product are confusing and inadequate, but it's actually pretty straightforward. In my case, since I had removed the old flange ring, I had the following situation: there was the old floor, then about 1/4" higher was the existing flange, and then another 3/8" was the new floor level. The instructions say to put the foam ring on first, BUT (and this is where I think some people found the instructions misleading) I had to first put a 1/4" plastic ring down to bring it up level with the existing flange, and THEN put down the foam ring. Next I used the remaining plastic rings to bring the level to about 1/16" below the new floor level, and finally the new (yellow) flange. Another concern you'll see in some comments is that the new flange looks small. However, it is plenty big, and it accommodates a standard toilet outlet with no problem. One small caveat: one of the plastic rings has a pair of directional arrows that are to be oriented exactly side-to-side. HOWEVER, when I installed it this way, it did not allow any wiggle room for the johnny bolts when installing the toilet. I barely dodged this bullet, but I would advise against uncritically following this installation instruction.

I fail to understand why this isn't a standard item at every plumbing retailer, but it's not. Thankfully I found it at Supply House.

Put in a slate floor and needed to address the toilet flange issue. The original installation was not correct as the toilet flange was sitting lower than top of the floor to begin with. The kit comes with multiple spacers of different thicknesses allowing me to select the best combination for my exact spacer need. Easy, straight-forward installation. I added some calking (just to over do it - 'cuz that's how I am), then reset and leveled the toilet. While the kit may have been overkill for my specific case, it contained everything I could have possibly needed. I live out on the country and multiple runs to the hardware store are expensive and very time consuming. The kit probably saved me a couple of trips.

Excellent product that will get the job done right, delivery was fast with no snafu.
