At 4 defrosts per day, the Paragon Universal Defrost Timer switches last 16 years longer! Proudly made in the USA - we offer a real time clock and 100 hours of power loss protection for both time and defrost schedule. Trade this for original mechanical controls in a heartbeat
We use these exclusively when replacing old mechanical timers with excellent results. They do fail sometimes, but not as often as the mechanicals. Most failures happen when in outside units have snow blow in electrical compartment or moisture gets to them. They are very sensitive to wet. They keep time even with power failures with internal timing build in.

They don't last for ever BUT!!!!
I bought 2 of these back in 2009 after replacing the mechanical equivalent every 6 months or so. Darn thing quit me after only 12 and 1/2 years.

How many of these can I use? How many ya got?
This timer will replace almost every defrost timer that's out there. I am sure we have all had the customer that has problems with a freezer defrosting at a bad time, like right in the middle of service leaving the ice cream too soft! This timer resolves that. You can set as many or as few cycles and each can be different lengths of defrost! Typically, a couple of 15 minute defrosts during the day and 90 minutes at 4 am. (Of course, if the termination 'stat opens, it will be less) All times are in 15 minute intervals- time of day, start/stop, length etc. Try it, you'll be hooked!
