Prevents pipe sweat . Can also be used to reduce heat loss on hot pipes below 180°F (82°C) . Easily cuts into pieces and molds around fittings and valves, eliminating the high cost of specialty cast forms . Adheres to clean metal surfaces and to itself.
We have been using this for 5 years but not any more. It was getting hard to peel off the backing but I still bought more. This batch is terrible. The foam will not separate from the paper. Its useless.

Basic foam tape does the job
More expensive brands are hard to peal off the backing. K502 works great in all temperatures. Supplyhouse beats all of my normal suppliers on price so get it here!!

Q: What are the materials used to construct this tape? I need something for a cleanroom environment and need to know what it may be outgassing. Are their metals in it? Is there a K value for its insulating quality?

The rubber in the K503 tape is Black elastomeric Nitrile Foam. There are no metals in it. The K-Factor is 0.28 @ 60°F (15°C). With a service temperature range from -20 to 180°F (-29 to 82°C).
