1/2"-1" Quick Sweat Kit

Unbelievable time saver! Sure beats packing a pipe with a Big Mac bun! It really works. Wish I had thought of it and patented it!

Happy with appearances of this item. Have not used yet but anticipate a 5 star once I do.

I use it mostly for sealing 3/4" copper into a hot water tank when the meter set doesn't shut off fully or there is a lot of plumbing to drain in the house. I can get the shut offs installed in less time than it takes to drain the water lines. Must properly debur the tubes though, or it won't fit or will cut and damage the seal. No shortcuts!

This is an EXCELLENT product that complements my 1/2-3/4-1" set of Jet-Swets well. While I really like my Jet-Swets, the 24" length and flexibility of this Pasco product really saved the day for me when I needed to solder a 12" long full-port 3/4" ball valve assembly into a system. The Jet-Swets were simply too short to do the job, but this Pasco tool handled it with ease! Keep in mind, if you are putting this through a ball-valve, it needs to be a FULL-PORT ball valve otherwise it won't fit (it's common sense folks). And you only need to click it into the FIRST locking position for most situations. Also, if you are going to pass it through some really old pipe, or flex it through an elbow, grease it up with some plumber's silicone grease first and it will be a LOT easier to push through. Bottom line, I highly recommend this product over bread or organic stuff like that (which would not have worked for me anyway because I was working upstream from a pressure reducing valve, which the bread would have clogged up).

First off, let me set the record straight on this product, the Pasco 51500 Quick Sweat Kit. It passes through FULL PORT ball valves without any issue at all. If the valve is not FULL PORT, then it will not pass through. The manufacturer makes this crystal clear on the packaging and on its website. There are many reviews on other sites that say it takes too much hand strength to use this product. I can't speak for pipe diameters beyond 1" (since this kit only goes to 1") but let me tell you this: I am a retired 70 year old male, and I don't have anything near the kind of hand strength that I had when I was younger. Despite that, I have no problem whatsoever squeezing the handle of this device WITH ONE HAND and sealing against water flow. I want you to keep in mind (and Pasco makes it clear on the packaging) you only have to engage the FIRST click position to do that. But I can even engage the 2nd click position with one hand, no problem. If you are passing the quick sweat end through some old pipe that might have crud and sediment in there, dipping it into a little plumber's silicone lube works wonders. Above all, if you are using this tool on newly cut pipe, MAKE SURE that it has been reamed on the interior so the sharp ridge doesn't cut up your sealing plug! I own a Jet-Swet kit and I have some home-made versions too. I really like the Pasco Quick Sweat because it is fast, flexible and seals pretty well. Yeah, its a bit pricey for what it is, but it works MUCH MUCH better than using bread or potato, trust me on that.

This tool is the best method I've found to stop residual (non pressurized) water flow in order to solder. It only works with full port fittings so you may need to solder a threaded adapter in order to adapt to Pex. Works great with full port ball valves.

These will not fit through ball valves. So just don't try you will not be able to pull plug out.
