Go with Gobi!

Had an Aspen Mini White condensate pump on my basement mini-split system. It was pretty loud when it started running, and then got ridiculously loud the last couple seconds before shutting off. Over and over again. Terribly annoying. I replaced it with the Gobi II, which is nearly silent. And it cost less. And it has a higher capacity. Skip the Aspen and "Go with Gobi". ps. I will give credit where it's due: the Mini White's access to the reservoir for cleaning, and they way it holds the drain hose is better than the Gobi II. The Mini White's reservoir can be removed without disturbing the pump, hoses, and wiring, whereas the Gobi II pump and reservoir must be removed from the bracket as a pair then separated. It also has an inlet molded in the structure to hold the inlet hose. But those two advantages don't even begin to make up for it's loud noise vs. the Gobi II.

Short lifespan ruins an OK product.

If you are planning a mini-split job, find a way to use a gravity drain or allocate $$ to replace these every year or two. The gobi ii is a slick little package but it is going to fail. Quickly. The sensor starts telling the pump there is condensate to pump out when there is none, and the pump running with no water is LOUD. And it won't shut off... there is no Off switch and it doesn't care if the mini-split is on or off. It is plugged into the power supply all up inside the AC unit, so you will be taking things apart to disconnect the gobi. The only immediate action I've found is to kill the power at the panel/breaker. Hopefully you don't have other units on that circuit like I do! I have seen some comments that you need to seat a seal around the cover but that's really for people who don't want to hear the normal operation, which is pleasantly quiet. When this thing malfunctions, nothing but ear plugs will help. My only consolation is that when the last one failed, I learned how to swap in a new unit, so recovery from imminent failure will be a little faster.

I bought one to replace my Gobi original pump.

I maintain 62 units in my building, each one has a Gobi 1 original pump. They are all 8ish years old. Some are getting noisy, some are starting to fail. I bought this Gobi II since I couldn't find the original. It worked perfectly, has some more interesting features like flow adjustments depending on the need and a usb port for monitoring. I just need the basic pump, but this worked great. Definitely ordering more to put on the shelf.

Not worth the trouble

These pumps are made to be replaced. not fixed. The sensor technology that it uses is faulty. The pump will go from working normal to ether not reading the water level or thinking there's always water and staying constantly on. Good Luck
