FINALLY an affordable motor
WHY spend twice as much for the same life span?
We run the blower nearly all the time. It keeps the air cleaner (running through good filters), and the house, a more constant temp. After 5 years - the original motor cooked the flat bushing type bearing(s) - I found these gems and even bought a spare!

This motor is a direct fit replacement for 51-24042-01 with the fin mounts and everything. The problem is that this unit emits an awful low-frequency howl when on any speed other than high. I can hear this howl throughout my entire house, echoing through the ducts. What's worse is it tends to undulate up then down, then up then down as it howls, so it cannot be ignored. It's awful! I cannot keep this blasted thing.

This motor is a direct fit replacement for 51-24042-01 with the fin mounts and everything. The problem is that this unit emits an awful low-frequency howl when on any speed other than high. I can hear this howl throughout my entire house, echoing through the ducts. What's worse is it tends to undulate up then down, then up then down as it howls, so it cannot be ignored. It's awful! I recently bought a blower motor, and after installing it I found out it was noisy. I'm guessing it's a bad winding, as it's quiet when ramping down when switched off. Just what I needed to fix my HVAC Blower
The motor works great and is quieter than the one it replaced. This is the 2nd time I've had my HVAC go down and both times I've found the parts at SupplyHouse and the parts were in stock ready to ship. There were cheaper parts that I found on other sites but they would have taken WEEKS to be delivered. SupplyHouse got the motor to me in 2 working days.
