Gas OxBox (Bagged) - 3/4" NPT Valve and Adapter for Iron Pipe

This product was very easy to use and install with an awesome finished look. I highly recommend these to anyone installing a gas line for any gas appliance. The extensions are great and the soid frame insert gives a nice finished look if the line is not being used. I used these for a gas line I ran for a fireplace.

Below is an excerpt from comments I sent to Sioux Chief about this Ox Box & the 1/2" version. The plastic boxes were okay, save for a few dings from the unsecured metal parts rattling around in & outside them. The valve handle paint in both boxes had multiple defects, some from shoddy painting processes and others from rattling around unsecured & unprotected. The valve male threads were poorly cut, most likely by tooling that was used too long before sharpening. They also had nicks that might have been caused by rattling around unsecured & unprotected. The brass adapter male threads were better cut but once again had many nicks from being shipped unsecured & unprotected. All female threads were without defects. The most concerning of the defects & quality control failure were the valve balls. When I first attempted to open the 3/4" ball valve it wouldn't open more than 70%! After loosening the screw & reseating the handle, the exit side opened to 90% while the entry side was 100% open. The ball was obviously improperly indexed when drilling holes that should have been 90 degrees apart. The mis-indexing of 1/2" ball was less pronounced but still evident. I will be installing these valves today because I don't have time to procure replacements. The ball misalignment probably won't affect appliance operations to a significant degree & I will rely on generous applications of pipe dope to ensure well sealed connections. Sioux Chief needs to seriously reconsider its packaging method for this product & its quality control efforts...
