Helps keep my installation compact
I'm adding a gas dryer to an apartment. I'm squeezing things into a tight space, so recessing the gas valve into the wall will make things more compact.
The box seems well made with sufficiently thick walls. I mention this because I got a washing machine box from another vendor and am very disappointed with its structural integrity; one of the walls separated from the box's bottom despite careful handling. I've had no such problems with this product.
I attached the box to a stud, so I did not use the supplied strapping. I have no idea how well that works.

I would use this box again with some modifications
The box comes with one locknut which is useless. I was able to buy two washers separately and sandwich them between the valve and fitting. It secured the valve to the box to make it so valve was ridgid.
It's a good rough in box but you'll need to improvise.

The only issue I ran into is that it does not include a fitting to connect the csst tubing to the valve. You need to provide your own adapter.
