Description
–
Sioux Chief 869 series ProCheck backwater valves shall be used where necessary
in drainage systems. Backwater valve shall be installed in horizontal drainage lines
to reduce or prevent damage to dwelling from sewage backup. Backwater valve
shall have a stepped design to provide adequate fall through the valve body and
encourage flow. Flapper shall install into valve body via removable carrier, which
utilizes key-to-slot to ensure proper alignment. Flapper shall have a permanent,
one-piece sealing surface, and allow unrestricted, unidirectional flow. Valve body
shall be sealed by an impact/solvent resistant lid with o-ring. Backwater valve
shall be adaptable to either shallow or deep-bury installations and be designed in
accordance with ASME A112.14.1-2003

Great Product
This backwater valve is the highest quality I have purchased. I bought one before this that didn't even come with an o'ring to seal it so it went back. This new one has rubber on the sealing surface so You have a better sealing to keep the water from going where its not supposed to go. I am very impressed with this valve and would recommend it to any one that is trying to stop backflow. It was also shipped quickly and I feel the price I paid was very fair.

Much better design on this backwater valve overall
The 2x4 slot built into the cap is a far superior design to the other brands. The flapper is way better as well. Instead of using a o-ring to make the seal the entire flapper is rubber. It also has a reinforced backing to prevent sewer rats from trying to get in. Great valve.

A great product
Need a Backwater Valve to be installed in a existing sewage drain. The Sioux Chief PVC Procheck was the only valve I could use because the front and the back of the valve was parallel to each other. Other valves the front opening was either higher or lower to the back opening and is used for only new installations. The Sioux Chief PVC Procheck can also be used for new installations.

I think it will work
I just completed the installation yesterday and it looks like the check valve will work. One note: you will have to buy a 6" pvc pipe to view the valve and to clean it. I tried to do it on the cheap and had to return all the cheaper pipes.
