THIS IS WHAT ALL SPOUTS SHOULD BE LIKE.........WHY ARENT THEY???
Junk I have used in the past make you solder in precise spots then still worry about leaking behind spout......This is the only one made with CRAFTSMANSHIP YES THAT IS a concept from the past. Which manufacturers used to sell products.

Didn't work
Wouldn't stick on a clean surface. Screw to tighten to seal was a flat end. No way that tightens into the seal.

I would buy one again, but I probably won't need another one
This was amazing and save us a trip from the plumber. It was an exact match for one that had lasted over twenty years. I was able to install it in five minutes with nothing but a Philips screwdriver. The online directions were excellent, and it shipped in just three days.

Perfect for sealing a non-secured pipe
sometimes you have a house like mine where the pipe comes out of the wall but it moves - it hasn't been secured on the inside of the wall. This spout ingeniously pulls the pipe out and uses that force to gain pressure against the wall, while using a plastic/foam grommet to keep the water out of the hole. This means you don't have to rip open the wall and secure the pipe just to keep it stable. Again, ingenious design. Lasted about 10 years for me and then the diverter got gummed up and I couldn't clean it to original function again, so I bought another. In retrospect, it would probably be a better plan to remove it once a year and soak it in vinegar water with your shower heads.

Very easy to install
Are use this to replace a tub spout, which had a failing diverter. The smart spout seems like it's of quality construction, and it installed within minutes. The only reason I didn't give it five stars was because it was somewhat difficult to tell how tight to make it. If it's not tightened enough, the tub spout will rotate on the copper pipe but too tight and it could cause damage, so just be careful when tightening.

Best Seal on Copper Line
This was the only spout that would seal completely on the 1/2" copper line in our tub. Unfortunately, we have very hard water (99+ GPG) so the softener has to do a lot of ion exchanging and while the water is soft the residual sodium seems to attack the finish on this product around the diverter. I had to replace this product after about 2 years because of the corrosion that caused the diverter to leak. Overall, it's the best one I've found even if our water gets to it over time.
