The best is relative to personal preference. I think the manual said 70/79. But because I'm cheap mine is set for 68/74. And at about $6 a month, I'm happy and best of all my wife is happy. Good luck. dale

When a relay in the thermostat "makes," it will cause a clicking sound.
It sounds to us like a wiring issue. Either the thermostat is wired incorrectly or there is a short in the wire.
