Taco Variable Speed Delta-T Circulator's all-in-one design combines a microprocessor based variable speed differential controller with the reliability and convenience of our 00® Cartridge Circulators. Simply dial in the design Delta-T of the system or zone (from 5 - 50°F) and then sit back and watch the circulator automatically adjust its performance to match the systems ideal BTU/hr output, while conserving energy and eliminating velocity noise.
No matter how good your original system design and heat loss calculations were, they included estimates and rules of thumb. What are the design conditions for those systems you "inherited" or have to service? Have a zone valve system or multi-zone radiant manifolds running off a common circulator? Your system needs a circulator that automatically adjusts to deliver the optimal heat transfer based on the actual operation of the system, every day, under all load conditions - even when those conditions change. With the Taco Variable Speed Delta-T 00® Circulators you simply dial in your desired temperature drop across the system or zone (5-50°F), attach a supply and return sensor directly to the pump and it will automatically vary its performance to deliver optimal heat, efficiency and comfort.

I would buy again
I purchased this for use on an outdoor wood boiler as the main supply pump. It works great. As the load on the indoor heat exchanger increases and return water temperature drops it speeds up to satisfy additional heat load.

The original high flow Taco pump was sized for all the radiant zones calling for heat at once. This caused the non-Taco zone valves to be pushed open and over heat the entire house. The homeowner would use just one thermostat and all six zones would heat, crazy!
Enter the Taco delta T pump. It was the right circulator for the issue. I replaced all the zone valves and installed this pump. It works great! It monitors the supply and return temperatures and only runs as fast as it needs too at the moment. The pump curve for this model covers basically the whole 00 family. So if the small hallway zone calls, just right. If two zones call or the whole house at once, just right. I bought it because the modern version of this pump runs only on a delta P for pressure and costs twice as much. The instructions are a bit thick to understand, even for a die hard manual reader like me, but worst case set it up for your desired temperature difference and let it go.
