Quick parts delivery
The mixing valve had to be removed during a hot water tank replacement. My local supplier did not stock the gaskets. Supply House delivered the part on the second day after ordering. Great service!

Washers only, no screen/filter element
New mixing valves come with washers that contain a strainer/screen to capture any solids that might otherwise enter the mixing valve. My screens were ruined from many years of hard water, so I ordered new ones. They lacked the strainer/scree. They work fine, fit perfectly. But they lack the functionality I was hoping to replace.

Has the screen filters!
Was a little concerned because a previous reviewer said theirs did not come with screens. I talked with a Taco rep and was assured this kit does have two gaskets with the screens. While not pictured, my set did indeed come with the needed screens.

The seal/gasket kit does not contain the internal o'ring seals that are needed to fix a valve leaking condition.

mix-valve gaskets
Gaskets used on the inlet side should be redesigned for better fit to angled edges of the copper flanges. When old ones were removed, they were greatly deformed.

Wrong information
I called to verify if theses 3 gaskets were for rebuilding the stem of the Taco 5000 mixing valve. I was told they were for the stem so I purchased 2 packages. They are seals for the 3 nuts and not the stem. The stem requires 2 o-rings.

They are standard sizes. They can be used for ½ inch or ¾ inch pipe. Though I’d suggest not using ½ inch pipe for these mixing valves.
