12" X 6" RAPR Wall Return Air Pathway for Existing Construction

This was installed in one of the guest bedrooms. It was easy to install and works great.

The duct and grill work the way they are supposed too, the only problem I had was it took two phone calls and three shipments to get all the pieces. The first shipment was just one grill, after a phone call I thought everything was taken care of, but the second shipment was just the other grill. It took another phone call to get the duct and baffle. I will say the customer service people were great and polite. I think it was the people in the warehouse who kept making the mistake.

We had two small offices that I built in a larger space that could not have supply ducts. When the doors were closed they grew stale quick and the temperature rose. The install was really easy. There is some sound transmission, but we expected that.

I have one room that is cooled by a mini-split, but not the other. My wife asked me to put a hole in the wall to help cool the other room. Okay sure. So I looked at some videos on youtube to see how others did it. Didn't seem to difficult. So I went to my local big box retailer to get this pathway. No luck. I ordered this wall return pathway from SupplyHouse. Once I got it, I put holes in the walls and installed it. It worked okay, but it took awhile to cool the other room. So I bought a register booster fan and it cooled the room much quicker.

I bought this for a bedroom that had to have the doors closed continuously to get some air flowing between it and my main house. It was easy to install and does the job it is supposed to do. I did take the baffling material out as it was mounted up high and the light/sound was not an issue for me. Just be sure you purchase the right one.. I accidentally got the one for NEW construction and needed it for EXISTING as they are made differently!!!

I installed them above the bedroom doors. Closing the doors kept the air from circulating even with the AC on. It moves now. Even with the door open, I can feel the air moving through it. No noticeable increase in sound transmission. And no light gets through. Well worth it.

Having a vent in each room when the door is closed has improved our sleeping and air quality. Its nice to have fresh air in the rooms all the time no matter if door is close or not.
