14" X 6" RAPR Wall Return Air Pathway for Existing Construction

I bought 4 of these vents to add airflow between rooms. I cannot sleep with any light in the room and only thought these because the reviews claim they don't let any light through. This is not true at all. There is nothing in between the vents that blocks light in any capacity. Now I can't sleep in the rooms installed them in because any amount of light passes through. Also, the quality seemed on the lower end to me. Thin sheet metal with cheap vent grilles.

We installed this return air pathway in an existing wall to improve airflow when the door is closed. This was user friendly, and was fairly simple to install, although it was about borderline for installing in a 6" steel stud wall. When in doubt, duct tape. This installation looks very neat and blends right in. The room temperatures have improved noticeably.

I installed these in my second floor with cathedral ceilings. Really helped balance out the heat in the winter. I installed them as high as possible and right after cutting the one hole I could feel a rush of hot air come through so I knew they would work right off the bat. Installation was super easy.

Improves the HVAC efficiency significantly, evens out the room temps, etc. My only suggestion to the manufacturer would be to offer them with various grille options. For example, we have to buy aftermarket aluminum grilles for bathrooms as the humidity can cause the steel grilles to rust, over time. Also, some customers prefer a more upscale aluminum grill, so we would be willing to pay extra for the ability to have the desired grille in the package.

These were ordered for my son's new house. 2016 house but it had no RAPs; these make a huge difference in room comfort. We put one in every room with a door and HVAC vent except those, like the master, with its own return. It also helped with our radon issue as the HVAC unit was no longer needing to pull in outside (crawlspace) air. We don't find they allow more noise though than the door does.

5 stars for product…..HOWEVER Bought 2 of these to install over bedroom doorways. These 2 rooms are not as cool as rest of house. Suggestion from my HVAC people. While Supplyhouse has best prices and quick shipping, I had problems. Both times I ordered I received only partial pieces of the item. Had to contact customer service who was quite responsive. Had to take items to UPS store to return. Was told the second time I ordered and had same problem I would have overnight shipping. Lo and behold! I had 3 day shipping. Was not particularly pleased.

With bedroom doors staying closed, one room was highly pressurized, the door slammed after opening. Upstairs the air conditioning struggled to cool the hall area with only one duct, these have completely changed everything. I definitely recommend these to anyone, especially if you are in an older house without transoms above the doors.

Home has forced air heat to which central air was added. Return air flow was inadequate from upstairs. Bought three of these for upstairs BRs, to get return air flowing to upstairs return grille. Noticed improved air flow and more balanced cooling between upstairs and downstairs immediately. Glad I
