Overview
The WiFi Snow Melting Control 670 operates hydronic and electric heating equipment designed to melt snow and/or ice from roads and walkway surfaces. The control works with the tekmar Snow/Ice Sensor 090 or Snow Sensor 095 to automatically detect snow or ice and operates a single boiler, steam valve, or electric cable to supply heat to the slab. Boiler return protection is provided to non-condensing boilers using a mixing valve or variable speed injection mixing pump. The tekmar Connect mobile application allows for remote operation and monitoring of the snow melting system from anywhere in the world.

Great snow-melt control
I have used Tekmar snowmelt systems and controls for years. This is another good product that has nice features. I wish the online application allowed for a few more functions but I am sure that will happen soon enough.

Like having wifi
This is used on snowmelt driveway in Colorado my in slab sensor went out so had to add aerial sensor until spring because ground is frozen. Aerial sensor is time sensor so driveway which is long is not always melted so like having wifi to be able to turn boiler back on if needed. The app needs work as the controller is all digital and I would like to see all or more controls on app and sometimes have to reinstall, over all love the ease of use of controller compared to my last one which was only 2 yrs old but everything is going to smart home!

I have a customer who loves phone apps. I ask if he would want the basic snow melt control or the wifi. He was more than willing to pay the $1400 additional cost over the basic control.
