Great boiler

Just installed and started using Sept 1, 2012, is working great with the Smart 30 gal water heater. Have not run out of hot water yet. I installed the boiler myself with no problems. The manuals that came with the unit are well written and easy to understand. Very easy to program, no number codes like the old model, would work out of the box with no programing.

SAVE YOUR MONEY!!! NOT WORTH IT

I have only had my unit for 5 years I have had to pay every year out of pocket to fix it. I must of gotten a lemon because each year the cost to fix has been between $400-$1000 plus the unit was not cheap. I have called the manufacturer but get nowhere. We paid for the extended warranty and the company that installed it has closed. This is not what I was promised to me. And today the circuit board blew and there was smoke even on the main floor. I would much rather run out of hot water here and there and saved my money than do this again.

Waste of Money

WE have had nothing but trouble with this boiler from day 1. Have had to replace the igniter switch every couple of years. Finally having to replace as can't get parts any more.

Terrible boiler and service. CO defect with recall

I purchased 2 boilers. A master and a slave. The boilers kept shutting down . I made constant calls to Triangle tube. I come to find out that there was recall of the boilers due to a CO problem but my boilers were not in the recall. Just discovered that a new serial number label was placed over the originals. The boilers were part of the recall. I want to replace the defective boilers, but they are unwilling to accept the problem. My family's life was in jeopardy .

Wish they hadn't of changed their design

After putting these in for years for some reason they changed the design of the exchanger. The last one on the condensation drain went from metal to plastic. Taking it out of the box noticed it was already broken. Not a good setup, Triangle Tube did take it back but I am going with another company

No pump inside of unit.

Bought it as an exact replacement for the current boiler , The old Prestige Solo had a circulator pump inside , this one did not . Needed to add pump for correct operation .

Awesome Boiler

Installed in 2007. Very efficient and reliable. I only gave 4 stars because the air circulator fan had to be replaced 10 years later, not because of the electrical component, but because of the cheap fan blade plastic that was used which disintegrated. I'd have been happier if they used stainless steel blades instead.

Lots of problems over the years

Natural gas model from 2010. Have had lots of problems- flaky controller with intermittent fault, frequent flameouts especially when windy outside. No alarm when unit timeouts on reignition sequence so you'll know when it gets good. On the plus side indirect fired hot water is great, although our first stainless storage tank rusted through. We've saved a lot in gas costs but given some back on repairs.

Flawless maintenance free operation for 14 years

Had this unit for 14 years before the plastic fan blades failed in the blower. Trouble free for 14 years straight! I wish they'd make cars that good.

Outstanding!

Good way through the first heating season with thus unit and it has performed flawlessly. This was a DIY installation and from the minute I powered it up it has operated with no issues and my latest gas bill (during a bitter cold winter) was Down by 25%. This along with a Honeywell learning thermostat the house is also much more comfortable as the radiator heat no longer overshoots and gets cold between cycles. With the outside temperature factored into the boiler temperature the house temperature varies very little regardless of how cold or warm it is outside. I realize other boilers have some of the same features and will probable perform similarly but the simplicity of this unit is impressive. Time will tell but so far really good.

The very good and the bad?

I bought this boiler after a lot of research on the product. My only concern is that it was only AFTER I bought it that I found out Triangle Tube will NOT assist with the installation process unless it's one of their qualified contractors. And that leaves some questions as to warranty issues down the road. Pex Supply was a great help to me since it was already purchased and delivered before this came to my attention. They should have an alert on this type situation because now I can only pray that I have no warranty issues.

This boiler operates most efficiently when return water temperatures are as low as possible. Flue gases can normally start to condense when return temperatures are below 150°F to 140°F.

Q: HI, I'M INSTALLING THIS TRIANGLE # PT-110 BOILER WHICH CIRCULATES CENTRAL HEAT WATER AS WELL AS DOMESTIC WATER. NOW, IF I USE THE DHW FROM THE BOILER, DOES THIS WATER CONNECT DIRECTLY TO MY EXISTING WATER TANK? OR DOES IT REQUIRE AUXILIARY HEAT EXCHANGER?

This boiler can be connected to an indirect water heater. Such tanks generally contain a coil through which boiler water can flow to heat domestic water sitting in the tank. The boiler would not work with a standard tank-style hot water heater.
