I am replacing units previously installed
It is a great thermostat, but seems to only last about 7 or 8 years. I have about 20 of these in service, and have started to replace some defective ones.

Q: Sir; We have a Venstar 2800, and our installer programmed it with the automatic plug in device. I have tried to manually program, but it doesn't seem to take it. It lets me set it all up, but the set points stay as previously programmed. Does it take time for the programming to take effect, or should I see a change immediately? I have selected yes in the setup screen(programmable). Any thoughts on this? Thanks you. Rick

Verified Reply- PexSupply StaffIt sounds like the thermostat isn't in the Program On mode. Once you make the necessary changes to your program, make sure you toggle the Mode button to Program On.

EricThe first thing I would check is to make sure you have 24 volts to the stat. See TroubleShooting under section 8 on pages 8.1 and 8.2 of the installation instructions I sure hope this helps I will attach this page 8.1 for you.

Deleted 24 volt power that controls the thermostat is missing.if you have a volt meter there needs to be 24 volts between terminals r&c most common remedy check furnace switch or ac breaker is off.
