Strap-on Temperature Gauge Set

Purchased two to check DW boiler temps, from boiler and out of mixing valve. Both read within a degree of each other on same section of pipe. Slow to respond (anlaogue), but that's fine for their purpose. The contact area on 1/2" pipe is pretty small, and they are clearly intended for 1" pipe and larger, but they do work on the common residential 1/2" & 3/4" diameter - just need to tighten the spring retainer. A useful improvement would be two sets of the pipe contact fitting, for small and larger pipe sizes.

The gauges are great and easy to install, but my review is more about the company. Stuff happens and my first delivery was the wrong product. I've been adding these to installations where tempering valves are used. Place it on the MIX side of the valve to properly adjust and monitor the temperature being supplied to that particular zone. Gauge seems to respond quickly.

I installed the gauges on the supply and return pipes from heating loops to help indicate how the boiler is operating.

I purchased three of these to add additional thermometers to my system, giving me the ability to monitor my domestic hot water, the hydronic primary loop, and the hydronic secondary loop. I tested them out for accuracy by installing all three temporarily on another line which had a working thermometer already on it and confirmed they were all within plus or minus 2° of each other.

I put them on Steam pipes outlets and returns. To see what the temperature was, they show me where I was cool and what was over heat. love them they did the job. I do recommend them. Took wire and wrapped it around 3 inch pipe I worked excellent!

I got two of these to measure delta-T between supply and return lines on an old solar thermal system. Both gauges matched each other for temperature readings so no additional calibration was needed. They are easy to install and easy to insulate around. From a price and installation perspective these are a good value.

I purchased two of these for a client. I had them on my desk and let them come to room temperature. Both gauges read exactly the same temperature, something not common among gauges in this price range. The wire attachment is a bit loose for a 3/4" inch pipe, but is easily adjustable by shortening the wire. I will continue to purchase these for installations that are missing important temp gauges.
