This tool performs very well especially in tight situations where you do not have full access The handles do swing apart to open the jaws The more you use this tool the easier it gets to use No regrets this tool is worth every penny you spend to buy it I have the crimp er with the longer arm but since i bought this tool i no longer use it however you do require more arm strength to close this crimp er It is worth trying Merv
It opens by pulling down on the back handle, an excellent professional quality tool. I 've used this kind for many years as a plumber out in the field.
Yes Is it the style that opens up by pulling down on the back handle (linkage inside of too allows for minimum handle spread. You will love how easy it is to use!!! Good Luck!
It is actually tricky to figure out, the first time but, after that, it is a piece of cake. Use your thumb on the back of the black jaw assembly and push it forward, while slightly super wading the handles. There is a bit of resistance but, once you get it, it will make sense! Took me a few tries to figure it out, myself! Good luck :-) Thanks, Matt
Yes, you pull down on back handle to open it up.
these crimpers are the type you pul back on the back handle and open for full access. these are great for tight spaces. they are the only ones to consider in my opinion for original pex ring connections.
yes you have to pull the handle down in order for jaws to open.
It measures approximately 10-1/2".
10 ½”
right around 12" I've used deffern't types this one is by far the best yet
10 and 1 half in.
Yes, this tool is compatible with any brand of standard, SDR-9 PEX tubing using the crimp fitting method.
I think it is GREAT! Hand down its the best product made for plumbing. Bob Phillips
Yes this tool is compatible with all brands of pex potable water tubing.
I don't think that crimp system works with all of the tubing.... I used the auquapex upinor tubing to redo my entire house and it worked great. Some tubing works with expandable tubing that may not be the best fit for the crimp system. If you are definately using the crimp system it should tell you what tubing is compatible with the fittings. Sent from my iPhone
I don¹t know. What I can tell you is that I have used the tool with the 1/2² tubing I purchased on the PEX website and it has performed perfectly for me.
Yes, pex tubing size is standard per ASTM for any brand which conforms to it. Works with any full circle crimp.
No, this tool is only compatible with PEX crimp fittings.
This tool/fitting system will not work for PEX-AL-PEX tubing. For FostaPEX, the only fitting system that works is Viega PEXPress. We do not carry the Inferno brand so we cannot recommend its compatible fitting system.
The crimp tool kit (SKU: CRIMPTOOL) has the size ranges of 3/8" to 3/4". Individual crimp tools can be purchased in 3/8", 1/2", 5/8", 3/4", or 1".
This crimp tool is a ratchet style tool. It opens completely and you close it around a crimp ring to make the fitting. The fitting must be complete before the jaws will release. There is a video in our Resource Center at the following link showing how these connections are made: http://www.pexsupply.com/resources/videos
In order for the crimp tool to release, the handles need to be fully closed for the crimp fitting to be secured and then the tool will release.
