For a 1" supply use sku 46656 to thread onto the manabloc, and then sku U094LF to connect the pex tubing to the 1" male thread on the supply adapter.
here is the page with the supply adaptors.....it all depends on male or female fitting at your supply end. You do have to use the manabloc adaptor.....proprietary threads. http://www.supplyhouse.com/MANABLOC-Supply-Adapters-764000 hope this helps.
The manabloc supply inlets/outlets all require special Viega manabloc adapters. These have straight threads on the manabloc side of the adapter. They seal against the manabloc with a rubber washer similar to a hose bibb. Note that the threads on the supply inlets/outlets are NOT pipe threads and will not seal with pipe dope. I have read about these threads getting ruined by people trying to connect directly to the manabloc with a female pipe fitting. As long as you use a manabloc supply adapter, you can pick any that work with your chosen supply lines and pex connection method... The adapters are available to directly connect to 3/4" or 1" supply pipe. (You would likely pick an adapter for 1" pipe.) The connection options are PEX crimp, PEX press, compression ring, and pipe thread. Your choice will depend on the connection method that you have chosen for your plumbing system. If you are using PEX crimp or press throughout your system, you can use one of those adapter choices to connect directly to the manabloc. If you are using the sharkbite fittings that don't require PEX tools, you can use the male NPT adapter. Connect this to your PEX supply pipe with an additional Sharkbite/female NPT adapter. The compression adapter seems to only be available to fit 3/4" supply lines. My system has sharkbite tubing with PEX crimp fittings throughout my system, but somehow I ended up with NPT manabloc adapters. All of these required that I use an additional adapter on each supply line...female NPT / PEX crimp or female NPT / Sharkbite.
Viega, does not provides us with those specs
It would be nominal pipe size. (The diameter of schedule 40 1" pipe) Slightly smaller than 1". Garland Sonsel
The inside diameter is of no use on NPT connections. If your idea was to sweat a pipe inside this adapter it will not work. It is designed for a 1" NPT coupler to join a supply line. 1" NPT to copper or PEX is available as an adapter. Sent from my iPhone
This 46656 adapter can be used to connect 1" PEX at MANABLOC supply inlets. An additional 1" PEX x FNPT fitting would also be needed. You can use one of the "supply" ports on the cold side (top or bottom) to feed your water heater as illustrated in the diagram at the link below using the same adapters. http://blog.supplyhouse.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/08/diagram.jpg
You should not use teflon tape or any type of thread sealant at the connection between the threaded supply adapter and Manabloc body, but you should use teflon tape at the NPT end of the supply adapter (i.e. where it would connect to a female NPT fitting).
No
If the supply outlet adapter or the pex fitting has a rubber seal that seals the joint between the two fittings when tightening the threads, then teflon tape is not needed. Beware that Teflon tape may damage plastic threads especially when threading with metal threads on to it. So it may be better in this situation to use plumbers putty. Hope this helps. Doug.
Yes, NPT is national pipe thread, so it is a standard thread that will work with other NPT fittings (including the Sharkbite female-threaded adapter you inquired about)
Yes, it will work, npt is the size and space of the threads
Hi, These parts comply with ANSI-NSF and ASTM standards. Since both items are standard ¾” size, they should fit fine. A 3/4” diameter item will have 12 Threads per inch and the mating dimension is exact( ¾”).
Yes, the male threads on the Manabloc adapter are standard 3/4" tapered pipe threads.
No washers are needed in addition to the one included with the supply adapter.
No addl washer needed
Be sure to install all adapters on this fitting first before installing it on the manabloc this supply adapter comes with it sealing element ( oring) no other washer or thread sealant should be used & do not over tighten or damage may result book says hand tighten only y'all. Have a good day Sent from my iPad
No other washers are required other than the supplied o-ring that comes with the adaptor.
I installed three of these by simply screwing it on the Manabloc. Only had an o-ring, no washer was used. My installation appears fine - no leaks after about one month. Hope this helps.
It would be easiest to use a part 46656 MANABLOC supply adapter, along with a WP3-16 (sweat connection) or U094 (SharkBite connection) fitting.
Yes, MANABLOC and MINIBLOC units use the same supply adapters.
Yes these fit the Miniblock's and full size blocks as well.
Supply adapters are only available in 3/4" and 1" sizes (1/2" would not provide an adequate amount of water to the manifold). The distribution ports, on the other hand, work with either 3/8" or 1/2" PEX. Those fittings come with MANABLOCs, in the amount, size, and style ordered.
