Best product for plumbing

Completely remodeled my log home and decided to give the manabloc a try. It worked perfectly and without any leaks. I will definitely use again.

Easy Installation and Usage

This product was used to replumb our raised bungalow using 8 hot and 12 cold lines - still room for expansion with the 24 port. The kit had everything required to get it done. Instructions were fine for getting it mounted -- went with a surface mounting for it on 3/4 board. Make sure you have enough room around the Manabloc to permit your output lines to bend straight into the Manabloc. I could see how lines that are not straight may put a strain on the fittings. Hand tightened fittings, and not a leak to be seen. Make sure you spend some time planning out the input lines to the Manabloc as well --- if you have a cramped area like mine, you'll need to plan as supply lines only bend so much (and since it is PEX we want to use as few fittings as possible right? :-) ) Even pressure, and in fact we believe we see more pressure on some lines. Nice to have shutoffs for individual lines now as before had only the main water line shutoff for everything if work needed to be done. Excellent product.

Great Product!!

I used the 24 port Manablock to replumb my house. Converted from galvanized steel and copper to PEX. Completed job in 10 Hrs. with me and a friend. We are not pros but very compitent. There was nothing like it that I could find online and the price was great!

Manabloc is good

Pretty easy to install for a home owner first-timer. My application is for all new plumbing in old house. Unless you have access to a stud bay, you will have to construct a support structure out of plywood and 2x4s, drilling out support holes at each port fitting and at the manifold inlet/outlet in order to protect the somewhat fragile ports from any bending stress . Not hard to do, but plan accordingly! I mounted the 'unit' on bottom of joists on the basement ceiling. Also, order your caps for unused ports ahead of time. I was shorted one port fitting and it took a couple tries to fix - these are specific to this product and can't be purchase locally.

PEX Tube, as expected

Yep, it worked as planned. Very flexible compared to stuff purchased at home centers, worked well. Re-ran entire house from manifold with PEX. Used regular brass fittings, and crimp rings/tool.

just about perfect

I just got done installing this in my house as we get ready for some major renovations. It works wonderfully, and the install was a SUPER easy. The valves in the manifold work smoothly, though they do not have positive stops. This took me all of ten seconds to train myself to get used to. If the key is horizontal, or close to it, it is on. If the key is vertical, or close to it, it is off. The connections for each line connect to the main body with a slide-in coupler with an O ring. This allows you to attach the coupler when the line is not connected to the manifold, so it is easy to connect and get in place. This is a good thing because the connectors end up VERY close. The mounting system for the manifold seemed very flimsy. It mounts on four small plastic feet. I choose to anchor every tube a few inches from the manifold. Using 1/2" PEX and snap in connnectors I ripped a two 2x boards to 15/16" and mounted them down each side of the manifold to hold my anchors. It worked perfectly. I would buy this unit again, and I would reccomend it to anyone looking to add control and pressure balancing to their house.

Definitely a DIY Project!

Purchased the 14 port crimp manifold when I re-plumbed our lake cabin. Comes with an excellent set of instructions for mounting and showing how to run the lines. This was the first time I have ever used PEX plumbing and was amazed at how easy it is to do! The MANABLOC manifold is well made and had all the parts needed to connect the PEX lines to the manifold.

Magnificent

We replaced our old copper with this and it is working fantastic. We can run a dish washer, washing machine, flush a toilet and wash out hands while having and shower with almost no change in pressure or temp change.

Easy, flexible system

Used in a retro-fit project, changing 100 year old house over from galvanized to PEX. Manifold was easy to install and no connection drips at all.

Q: Can the manabloc be installed with the two supply ports on the bottom and the single supply port on the top? Every picture I see it has the two supply ports facing up.

You can do this. Water pressure will be sufficient to permit the supply at the bottom of the unit.

Q: Besides ordering PEX tubing and fittings, I also would like to order the Viega manifold CRIS 41143. Tell me if you can customize it with 6only 3/8" and 8 only 1/2" PEX crimp outlet? If possible, would the price be different? Thank you very much. Gilbert.

In order to do that, you would need to use six 46624 adapters ( http://www.pexsupply.com/Viega-46624-Brass-PEX-Crimp-Port-Adapter-3-8-PEX-Crimp-x-1-2-Port-Zero-Lead ).

It measures 29-1/2" tall, 8" wide, and 3" deep. Please refer to the following manual for more information: http://s3.pexsupply.com/manuals/1274210369561/30832_PROD_FILE.pdf

Q: i'm looking at the two package kits. what is the difference between this one and the npt supply?

The packages are identical except for the supply adapters. If you will be connecting PEX to the MANABLOC, you should use the crimp supply. If you plan to use copper, NPT will be your best bet.

these kits come with all the connections you need, instead of buying them separately. The supply fittings are the two fittings at top where hot/cold come into the manifold. With crimp fittings, they will crimp directly to 3/4" PEX. With NPT fittings, there will be a NPT thread to attach to a copper female threaded fitting or to a flexible hose or whatever else you want. These supply fittings are required, as you can't attach anything else directly to the manifold without them.
