Work well at the begining
When first received, tool worked well, later become almost impossible to operate. Have not contacted suppyhouse due to busy schedule.

Poor head piece
The heads often fall to one side and don't clamp both sides of the clip. They are quite tedious to use and often get stuck in an odd 160 degree angle from the closed handles. I managed to get them to work (barely) but I wouldn't use it professionally.

Q: Since this tool does not cut clamp rings, what tool do you suggest for that purpose? If you can't suggest a specific brand, what would be a generic description of the tool?

Verified Reply- PexSupply StaffOne option is the HDCLAMPTOOL sold on PexSupply.com. It is a dual-purpose tool that both makes clamp connections and cuts clamp rings.

Good question. I read in a magazine to use a dremel tool. However, I have always just used the yellow tin snips and they work great.

Q: You have a larger package deal and it states that that tool can make and cut the clamp fitting. Can this and the lower price model do this?

Verified Reply- PexSupply StaffThe only clamp tool we carry that also cuts the clamp rings is the HDCLAMPTOOL. This model cannot cut the rings.

Q: What is the difference between this tool and the less expensive tool? I have the less expensive tool and it has failed when using it on 1" clamps. The little pin gets out of position causing the jaws to work to one side and hanging on the clamp. The less expensive tool seems to work OK on smaller tubing. I need a heavier duty tool.
