Just what the doctor ordered.
I installed it just prior to the cold water mixing valve on my steam boiler. I've been wanting to do this for a long time. Now, when the steam boiler is producing steam for heating and the mixing valve is open, the check valve prevents the super heated water from backing up through the mixing valve into the cold water supply line. This 1/2 inch spring check is perfect for the job.
