- Compact sensor assembly designed for mounting in the burner or combustion area as specified in the boiler parts diagram
- One-time thermal fuse element that opens the safety circuit when exposed to abnormal high temperature conditions
- Genuine Weil-McLain replacement part supplied for use on designated CG, EG, CGi, PFG and related boiler series where listed in the parts catalog
Compatibility & Applications:
- Intended for use on Weil-McLain gas boilers that specify part number 512-050-230 in the official parts listings
- Used as part of the burner safety system to help protect the boiler and surrounding area from damage in the event of flame rollout or blocked flue conditions
- Applicable on both steam and water boilers where the service literature calls out this rollout thermal fuse element
- Should be matched to boiler model and series using Weil-McLain parts tools or service documentation before replacement
Installation & Operation Notes:
- Disconnect power to the boiler and shut off gas supply before servicing the rollout fuse circuit
- Follow the specific Weil-McLain service instructions for the boiler model when removing the existing fuse element and routing wiring
- Install the new rollout thermal fuse element in the same location and orientation as the original part, with any clips or brackets reinstalled securely
- After installation, restore power and gas, then verify proper boiler startup and confirm that all safety devices, including rollout protection, are wired correctly
Maintenance & Troubleshooting:
- Replace the rollout thermal fuse element if the boiler service diagnostics indicate an open rollout fuse or if the element shows visible damage or overheating
- When a rollout fuse has opened, inspect the burner compartment, flue passages, and heat exchanger for blockage, improper combustion, or other causes of abnormal temperature before returning the boiler to service
- Do not bypass or jumper the rollout fuse; the boiler must not operate without a functional rollout safety device in place
- If repeated rollout fuse trips occur, investigate venting, combustion air supply, and burner adjustment in line with Weil-McLain service recommendations

Fixed my aging boiler
After narrowing down the problem with my aging boiler, I order this rollout fuse. It arrived quickly and fixed the problem. It has been working great again since it was installed. This is the second time I needed some parts for my boiler. Both times, I ended up ordering from SupplyHouse. Cannot beat their prices and shipping. This is a fail safe thermal switch for the house boiler. If the fire for the boiler continues past the water temp. this little switch will shut it all down.

I had to replace this on my CG-3. It is designed to burn out to keep your boiler from catching on fire. Generally, after time the heat exchanger gets clogged with soot and causes the flame to "roll out" into the area where your wiring and control parts are located. By removing burners you can use a lighted mirror to see the heat excanger. It should be a rusty color and "finger-like" protrusions of pipe should be plainly visible. Solid black is bad and probably what you will see if you have to replace the t.f.e. Do yourself a favor and buy the brush for $30 and check/clean every spring!
