Q: My 1F80-0471 is connected for battery power only, wired per White-Rodgers customer support. The backlight appears to go on briefly when the thermostat calls for heat. No mention of this in owner's manual. Is this normal?

Verified Reply- PexSupply StaffAccording to the manufacturer, this should not be a cause for concern.
Ours does this as well, and I don't think it's suppose to. You're right, there is nothing in the owner's manual about this, which tells me it is NOT something normal or it would be mentioned. I'm really not satisfied with the answer that the manufacturer says 'this is not cause for concern', yet doesn't explain the reason why it's doing it. That tells me they don't know why. Ours was put in by the people who installed our new furnace three days ago, and the thermostat has been doing this since day one. I did try calling the customer service number given in the owner's manual, and after a few rings it just disconnects. I am not happy with this thermostat or with the so-called 'customer service'. Anyone out there know a little bit more than the company and can shed some light on this?
