As good as new
After 16 years of use, I noticed that two of my six radiant floor heating zones did not work. The balancing valves were black and showed signs of corrosion. One was frozen. I found a parts list and ordered by the part number They are the same as the original and are extremely easy to remove and replace. Remember to pressurize and bleed air from the system when finished. Reset the replacement valves with same setting as old. It appears that you can adjust the balance by measuring the relative temperature of the return tubes without applying a complicated mathematical formula. The longer tube runs will require valves wide open. Not rocket science!
